Born on January 5, 1986, Deepika Padukone is one of the most successful and popular actors in B-town. As a teenager, Dippy was a national level badminton player but gave up her sports career to become a fashion model. The sexy babe then started modelling under the guidance of Prasad Bidapa in 2004. She turned quite a few heads at her runway debut during the Lakme Fashion Week in 2005 where she walked for Suneet Verma.
After doing endorsements for several products and brands, she made her acting debut in 2006 with a Kannada film called Aishwarya. Following this, she did Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om where she played a double role opposite Shahrukh Khan. DP bagged a lot of praise and earned praise for her role in the SRK starrer. After this she did Bachna Ae Haseeno opposite her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. Following this, she did Love Aaj Kal opposite Saif Ali Khan which did quite well. After delivering these she did Housefull, Break Ke Baad, Lafangey Parindey, Karthik Calling Karthik and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey which bombed at the box office. The failure of these films did not discourage her. Following these, Dippy did Cocktail opposite Saif which proved to be a turning point in her acting career and also won a lot of critical acclaim for her performance in the film. 2013 truly belonged to the dusky actor after four back to back successful films in the form of Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.
In 2014, the actor will be seen opposite Rajinikanth in Kochadaiiyaan, then with Arjun Kapoor in Finding Fanny and opposite SRK yet again in Farah Khan’s Happy New Year. We hope to see more of Deepika in the next few years. BollywoodLife wishes an eventful year for the sexy actor.
